The first Bernina home sewing machine
appeared in 1932 in the small town of Steckborn, Switzerland. It was designed
by Fritz Gegauf and the Bernina name was taken from one of the towering mountains
outside of Steckborn. Bernina has always been committed to excellence in
design and engineering resulting in the highest quality products possible.
The machines are known for excellent stitch quality, ease of operation and
dependability to allow the sewer a frustration-free environment promoting
creativity.
Because it’s a big year for Bernina, there’ll be lots to celebrate
